Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer who will serve as the technical leader for all manufacturing processes within a defined production area. This role is responsible for driving improvements across safety, quality, cost, and delivery while leading major initiatives, optimizing complex processes, launching new equipment, and mentoring junior engineers.
This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in automated and semi-automated environments, enjoys hands-on work on the production floor, and has a track record of implementing sustainable improvements that move key operational metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead advanced problem solving efforts across the manufacturing area while guiding teams through A3, PDCA, DMAIC, 8D, Ishikawa, and other structured methodologies.
- Review safety, quality, maintenance, and operational reports to identify high impact opportunities and develop action plans that deliver measurable results.
- Evaluate equipment performance and drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, downtime reduction, and process reliability.
- Own the development, maintenance, and revision of Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, control plans, and other core manufacturing engineering documents.
- Create, standardize, and improve manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, training guides, and visual standards.
- Define and implement standard work for all operations within your area, ensuring alignment with lean principles and production requirements.
- Lead the application of lean tools including 5S, Kanban, error proofing, visual management, single piece flow, and waste elimination initiatives.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and technicians, providing training on root cause methods, tooling fundamentals, quality tools, and best practices.
- Support and influence cross functional teams across production, maintenance, quality, supply chain, and engineering.
- Drive compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, VDA standards, and internal audit requirements.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 5 years of progressive experience in automated or semi-automated manufacturing environments.
- Proven leadership in driving continuous improvement projects and mentoring less experienced engineers.
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, and CNC processes with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong understanding of materials, process capability, SPC, and advanced manufacturing methods.
Salary : $95,000 - $110,000
