What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vivarium Support Technician I - Cage Wash position at cincinnatichildrens?
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Cage Wash - Cleans & sterilizes cages, equipment, supplies, rooms (primary and secondary enclosures), etc. Prepares refuse for disposal or incineration. Equipment Operation - Able to operate pressure washer and industrial cage washers, perform and document functions performed in the appropriate log, and clean and maintain all cages, automatic water lines, and other related equipment. Housekeeping - Completes daily and periodic housekeeping of assigned areas which may include bathrooms, locker rooms, and surgery spaces within the vivarium. Restocks and maintains appropriate inventory levels of supplies in assigned areas. Safety - Monitors first aid kits, eye wash stations and functioning emergency exit on cage was equipment. Monitors & maintains washers & sterilizers in proper working condition. Supplies and Equipment - Delivers clean and/or dirty equipment and cages to and from cage wash as required. Maintains efficient organization & flow of supplies & equipment through cage wash area. Physical Requirements – Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand the duration of shift, and perform repetitive physical activities such as: pushing and pulling wheeled racks and carts, utilize a ladder or step stool, lift above shoulder level, reaching, stooping, and bending JOB QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent Preferred: Related experience working in supply chain, materials management or warehouse roles Primary Location Burnet Campus Schedule Full time Shift Day (United States of America) Department Comparative Medicine Employee Status Regular FTE 1 Weekly Hours 40 *Expected Starting Pay Range *Annualized pay may vary based on FTE status $18.16 - $22.25 Market Leading Benefits Including*: Medical coverage starting day one of employment.
