Muslim Chaplain Full-time, 32 hours per week. Day Shift. Looking for Chaplain to cover Saturdays. Open to negotiating scheduled shifts and off days. Location: Burnet Campus, 3333 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati OH 45229 Benefits and paid time off (PTO) eligible $5.00/hour weekend differential for working Saturday shifts. Our Spiritual Care Providers (also known as Chaplains) are here to help. We are members of the healthcare team. Our focus is on the wellbeing of the patient’s and family’s spirit. We work with people of all religions and beliefs and strive to understand what gives each person meaning and purpose. Our goal is to connect patients and families with the things that bring them courage and hope in tough times. Chaplain Job Responsibilities: Provide spiritual care specifically to Muslim patients/families, in addition to spiritual care to people/clinical staff of all faiths Advocate for patients/families Educate the healthcare teams to the impact of Muslim religious/spiritual beliefs on coping and medical decision making Teach colleagues about Islam & Islamic culture Cultivate relationships with local Muslim leaders and communities Job Qualifications: Graduate-level theological degree from a college, university or theological school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Accreditation 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education as offered through an ACPE accredited organization Ordination, current endorsement, or good standing in accordance with the requirements of Muslim faith tradition and/or endorsing agency Board Certification (or eligible for Board Certification) recognized by Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Association of Professional Chaplains, Canadian Association for Spiritual Care, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, and Neshama Association of Jewish Chaplains; or others as agreed upon by the Director of the Center for Spiritual & Grief Care that meet the Common Qualifications and Competencies for Professional Chaplains (www.professionalchaplains.org). Within three years from hire date, complete and submit application for Board Certification with the appropriate faith group or governing body 2-4 years of chaplaincy experience preferred Arabic language skills, or another spoken language in addition in English preferred.
