Experienced and Skilled Finish Carpenter to Install Handrails and Stairs
We pay for experience! $25.00 - $30.00
Job Type: Full-Time
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Installs and secures stair components, handrails, balusters, and newel posts in accordance with safety standards and building codes.
- Finish carpenter skills are required. Uses various tools and equipment, including saws, drills, and measuring instruments, to complete installations accurately.
- Must be proficient with a variety of metals including steel and aluminum. This includes fastening, cutting and welding.
- Reviews work orders thoroughly before starting the job, addressing any queries with the project planning team.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and/or installation diagrams.
- Organizes and loads all necessary materials before commencing installation to ensure smooth workflow.
- Transports, handles, and organizes materials required for stair and handrail installations.
- Implements floor protection measures across all walking and cutting surfaces to safeguard against damage during installation process.
- Measures and assesses spaces to determine precise dimensions for stair and handrail installations.
- Cuts, shapes, and assembles materials such as wood, metal, or composite materials according to design specifications.
- Inspects and ensures the structural integrity and safety of the installed stairs and handrails.
- Communicates any alterations to both the project planning and sales teams for client approval.
- Provides solutions to unexpected challenges or adjustments needed during the installation processes.
- Communicates with clients professionally, addressing any concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintains accurate records of installed projects, including measurements, materials used, and any adjustments made.
- Keeps work areas clean and organized, disposing of waste materials responsibly.
- Stays updated on industry trends, new materials, and installation techniques to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Adheres to safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Submits comprehensive final project documentation, including photos and completed work orders, to the operations manager via Monday.com.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of carpentry experience
- Understanding of rough and finish carpentry
- Residential carpentry experience desired
- Basic Set of Tools Required (Not company provided)
- Experience with stair and handrail installation a plus
- Experience with welding a plus
- Experience driving larger vehicles
- Ability to complete work on time and on budget with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift heavy items with and without additional help
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, in various positions, kneeling, stretching, and squatting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and/or Experience – High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) required; two or more years of finish carpentry experience preferred; general knowledge of stair and handrail installation preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.
- Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Computer Skills –To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, etc. Familiarity with CRM software preferred.
- Other Qualifications – Valid driver’s license required; Must be able to pass a drug test and background test

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
