Role Description The Intervention Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Cincinnati, OH, supporting students with diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. This role designs and implements individualized education plans (IEPs), provides targeted interventions, and collaborates with general education teachers to modify curriculum and instruction. The Intervention Specialist monitors student progress through data collection, adjusts interventions as needed, and communicates regularly with families and caregivers. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with school support staff, participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, and ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements. The role also involves fostering an inclusive classroom environment and promoting positive behavior and engagement.


Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Applied Behavior Analysis and Behavioral Intervention, with the ability to design, implement, and assess effective behavior support plans.
  • Knowledge of Psychology and child development to understand student needs and inform individualized supports.
  • Effective Communication skills for collaborating with students, families, educators, and support staff.
  • Education-related expertise, including special education instructional strategies, IEP development, and familiarity with relevant regulations and best practices.
  • Valid teaching license or eligibility for licensure as an Intervention Specialist (or equivalent), as required by the State of Ohio.
  • Experience working in K–12 school settings, preferably in urban or diverse communities.
  • Ability to collect and interpret data to inform instructional and behavioral decisions.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple student plans and deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, Education, or a closely related field; master’s degree is a plus.
  • Valid Intervention Specialist License
