Duties
- Lead and supervise a crew of tree climbers and grounds maintenance staff to complete tree jobs efficiently and safely
- Perform advanced tree climbing tasks such as pruning, cabling, bracing, removal, and planting with precision and care
- Operate company vehicles and equipment responsibly to support project needs including chippers and heavy machinery
- Conduct plant identification assessments to inform proper pruning or treatment strategies while maintaining overall site health
- Enforce safety protocols on-site, conduct risk assessments, and provide training to team members on equipment operation and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a tree climber and working arborist
- Strong background in tree care techniques including climbing, pruning, removal, and plant identification
- Supervising or team management experience in the tree industry is highly desirable
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles safely in outdoor settings
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team while maintaining high safety standards
- Familiarity with arboriculture and a desire for continued education and certification
