What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Materials Management position at Cincinnati Children's Hospital?
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Management - Provide oversight of the daily operations, workflow and staff of the assigned work area. Assess the staffing needs and prepare schedules to provide adequate coverage and maintain department readiness as directed by department leadership. Participate as department/division representative at meetings, relay relevant information and provide necessary follow up. Take ownership of issues and concerns communicated to the department/division and provide follow up to bring issues to conclusion. Ensure appropriate operational information regarding the department/division is communicated to appropriate staff. Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with other Cincinnati Children's departments and outside agencies with which the department interacts. Monitor the materials delivery system to meet service response time targets and maximum order fulfillment results. Ensure all inventory management system transactions are completed correctly. Ensure inventory and receipt discrepancies are researched and root causes are corrected.
Project Management - Plan and implement departmental projects and participate in Medical Center projects as needed. Develop project plans and schedules to ensure timely completion. Coordinate activities of project team, identifying appropriate resources needed. Refine scope of work and manage change control process. Prepare status reports and presentations for department leadership. Track action items and open issues log. Achieve annual area performance goals and collaborate with other areas of Materials Management and Supply Chain to facilitate the achievement of short and long term strategic plan initiatives. Participate in improving departmental and organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and providing input to department discussions.
Performance Management - Participates in and provides significant input into hiring, promotional, and termination decisions and job status recommendations.
Policies & Practices - Ensures policies and practices are understood and followed by team. May provide changes or recommendations as necessary.
Financial Management - Assist with fiscal responsibilities of the department as requested. Monitor budget expenditures; identify and research variances/problems. Assist in tracking and monitoring revenue, expense, and allocations. Provide applicable reports. Research information for major purchases. May assist with annual budget preparation.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Associates degree in related field. May require clinical license, certification/training
7 years of work experience in a related job discipline
