Position Summary:

The Facility Manager oversees and leads the daily workflow of the maintenance and HVAC teams. This position evaluates internal operations and service delivery for all internal and external customers.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Hires, supervises, directs, coaches, trains, mentors, and manages performance of employees to organizational goals and expectations.
• FAdds value as a key member of management; understands the organization, financials, industry, customers, and strategy.
• Manages assigned budgets and resources effectively and efficiently; knows and understands organization’s financial position.
• Manages vendors and outside service providers effectively; sets expectations and holds them accountable, as required.
• Leads all property management strategy, tactical objectives, and planning for deployment of resources. Responsible for cross-departmental coordination of activities.
• Directs the implementation of new property maintenance initiatives.
• Manages operational details surrounding building systems, maintenance of buildings and grounds, and renovation projects.
• Establishes standards of performance and appropriate workload criteria for jobs throughout the Maintenance and HVAC teams.
• Implements Library policies and procedures at the department level. Participates in policy revision and in the formulation of policies and procedures when needed.
• Oversees the budget for repair and maintenance expenditures.
• Supports and advances the Library’s mission of connecting people with the world of ideas and information.
• Embraces and embodies the Library’s core beliefs, strategic priorities and pillars of excellence.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of facilities management principles including maintenance, repair, and operation of buildings and building systems [HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, etc.].
• Knowledge of building construction and design including building codes, permits, safety standards, and construction processes and materials.
• Knowledge of effective supervisory methods and techniques.
• Skill in process and project management.
• Skill in contract and vendor management.
• Skill in customer service.
• Ability to work independently and with coworkers in a wide variety of situations with minimal supervision.
• Ability to use all technology applicable to the essential functions of the job and commonly used by the Library
  
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High School diploma (or equivalent) or technical/trade school certificate is required. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, or relevant discipline is preferred.
• Certifications or licensure: A driver's license and a driving record acceptance to the Library's insurance provider are required.
• Years of relevant experience: Five or more years is required.
• Years of experience supervising: Two or more years is required.
  
  
  

HOURS:

Full Time 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends

SALARY:

Starting at $77,188.80 based on experience
