Job Description
- Prepares and plates delicious meals for our 50 elders each day in accordance with planned menus, dietary requirements, and food safety standards
- Must possess a pleasant personality.
- Follow modified diets as required (e.g., low-sodium, diabetic, mechanical soft, pureed)
- Ensure meals are prepared and served on time and in appropriate portions
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen
- Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies (FIFO)
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and temperatures during preparation and service
- Assist with meal planning and communicate supply needs to the Administrator or supervisor
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas after each shift
- Comply with all facility policies, safety procedures, and resident confidentiality requirements
- Work cooperatively with caregiving staff to support resident needs and preferences
- Requires the ability to work - and think - on your feet.
- Candidates with prior kitchen experience preferred.
