Cimarron and Watring are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL.  This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the aerospace industry by producing components that support critical programs!

Watring is a subsidiary of Cimarron.  Watring Technologies, Inc. is a Huntsville, Alabama, technology-based design and manufacturing company specializing in custom hardware and turnkey solutions. Founded in 1997, Watring Technologies’ primary support is in Aerospace and Defense.  Their capabilities include hardware integration, testing, and product development.  With this acquisition, Cimarron gains substantial capability in both expanded service and product offerings.

Key Duties:

• Perform mechanical design and analysis in support of aerospace hardware and systems.
• Create, review, and interpret engineering documentation, including drawings, work instructions, and test procedures.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
• Support the assembly and assessment of prototypes for new hardware.
• Participate in instrumentation design, integration, and implementation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are producible and meet quality standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in design and manufacturing processes.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education: 

• Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. 
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance in a reasonable timeframe. 
• Adaptability to changing priorities, shifting demands, and unexpected challenges.
• 1 or more years of related experience.
• Willingness to work occasional overtime.
• Mechanical design experience in the aerospace industry.
• Experience creating and interpreting engineering documentation, including drawings, work instructions, and test procedures.
• Experience applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with instrumentation design and implementation.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical designs and manufacturing.
• Experience in prototype assembly and assessment.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline from an accredited university.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education: 

• Proficiency in Siemens NX modeling. 
• Active Secret Clearance. 
• Proficiency in SolidCAM.
• Experience in machining tight-tolerance aerospace parts.
• CNC operation experience.
• Experience with additive manufacturing.
