Cimarron is seeking a Propulsion Engineering Technician to support the development of the CST-100 Starliner, a spacecraft supporting NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Key Duties
- Perform spacecraft propulsion system leak checks and operate high-pressure fluid systems in support of test activities.
- Assist with loading and safe handling of hypergolic propellants, ensuring compliance with established procedures and safety protocols.
- Set up, operate, and maintain ground support equipment for propulsion testing.
- Support test engineers during spacecraft functional and propulsion system testing, including following test plans and documenting results.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and quality personnel to troubleshoot system performance and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate test records, procedures, and reports.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to DOT random drug and alcohol testing.
- 3 or more years of hands-on propulsion or fluids testing experience on spacecraft or aerospace hardware.
- Willingness to work overtime and off-shift operations, including 2nd and 3rd shift.
- Experience performing leak checks on spacecraft or aerospace fluid systems.
- Experience working with hypergolic propellants or supporting operations on hypergol-contaminated systems.
- Experience operating high-pressure pneumatic equipment for hardware pressurization.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving issues on ground support or flight hardware.
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent military/industry training.
- Current or previous Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Leak Test certification.
- Current or previous SCAPE/SAR certification.
- Experience developing or revising procedures for propulsion system testing.
