Cimarron is seeking an Operations and Sustainment Lead to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.
Key Duties
- Direct and mentor subordinate leads, providing clear strategic direction and holding them accountable for their team's performance.
- Serve as the final point of escalation for programmatic and personnel conflicts, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet all mission and project requirements.
- Oversee all Operations, Maintenance, and associated events within the mission network, to include installation, configuration, and verification of applications on Linux and Windows environments.
- Collaborate with senior government counterparts, program managers, and engineering leadership to identify strategic requirements and timelines, ensuring the successful implementation of effective solutions.
- Oversee implementation of comprehensive training plans for new employees.
- Own and manage Control Accounts for specified sections under the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and be ultimately responsible for all Task Order Status Report (TOSR) inputs for both the Sustainment and Operations Teams.
- Oversee budget and procurement activities to ensure fiscal responsibility and resource availability.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

- This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. - Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Ability to obtain an active DoD Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility.
- 10 or more years of full-time work experience.
- 5 or more years of directly related IT experience.
- 3 or more years of experience in a management or leadership position.
- Strong technical understanding of enterprise IT principles, including scripting and networking in mixed Linux/Windows environments.
- Hands-on experience with program-level responsibilities such as budget oversight, strategic planning, and performance reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science or a related field.
- Hold an active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Current IAT Level II certification or higher (e.g., Security ).
- Experience managing Control Accounts (CAM) or performing budget oversight on government contracts.
- Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and vSphere Kubernetes Service (VKS)
- Experience working on ground systems for space operations.
- Experience with GitLab, Remedy, and Aspen is a plus.
