Cimarron is seeking a Configuration Management Team Lead to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area.
Key Duties
- Oversee the full lifecycle of change requests from initiation through closure, ensuring all Configuration Management (CM) requirements are met and guiding stakeholders through the change management process.
- Manage the baselining of configuration items into the MDIOC Requirements, Architecture, and Engineering Baselines as required.
- Direct the processing, review, categorization, and documentation of CM activities prior to submission to government and contractor review boards.
- Lead and conduct site surveys as part of CM audits to validate the integrity and accuracy of facility configuration items and associated documentation.
- Mentor and develop FEPP CM team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and career growth within the configuration management discipline.
- Collaborate with Quality Control to resolve assigned findings and implement corrective and preventive actions related to the MDIOC Technical Baseline.
- Develop, maintain, and own CM processes, work instructions, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with industry, IRES, and government CM policies, plans, and procedures.
- Establish and manage a comprehensive CM training program, delivering training internally and externally across the FE&O organization.
- Champion process improvement initiatives that strengthen efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement within the CM team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of organizational and strategic objectives.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.

- Ability to obtain an Active Secret Clearance in a reasonable timeframe.
- 6 or more years of general, full-time work experience.
- May be reduced with completion of advanced education.
- 5 or more years of experience in:
- Leading configuration management efforts to include CM planning and management
- Identifying and baselining configuration items
- Configuration change management
- Configuration status accounting
- CM verification and validation
- Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning and identifying process improvement opportunities within the FE&O CM program.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow documented processes and procedures and provide feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Understanding of EIA-649-C Configuration Management standard principles and practices.
- Ability to climb ladders and work beneath raised floor areas.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Experience using BMC Remedy for change and configuration management tracking.
- Experience developing and delivering training materials and presentations.
- Experience creating and maintaining process documentation.
- Experience tracking, analyzing, and reporting CM data and metrics.
- Experience developing, managing, and auditing baseline configurations.
