The position
We are seeking a motivated Senior Scientist or Principal Scientist (based on experience) to contribute to Cilcare’s development.
The Senior Scientist will execute projects of diverse as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a GLP environment. Develop strategies for the application of broad scientific principles and concepts in otology for the preclinical assessment of various treatment modalities, including pharmaceuticals and/or medical devices. Initiate, direct and execute otology projects, perform functional assessments of the auditory function and histology of the auditory organ. Contribute to protocol development, data analysis and reports. Interact with peer scientific experts and sponsors. Contribute to the management of purchasing, and scheduling. Position requires individual to be recognized for specific scientific expertise in otology, hearing research and inner ear diseases.
Key responsabilities
- Conduct preclinical research focused on auditory and inner ear biology
- Handle and work with rodents and non-companion large species
- Administer drugs and any therapies via various routes (locally: TT & IC and systemically: IP, IV, PO, …)
- Perform inner ear surgery (PSCC, RWI, cochleostomy, ...)
- Perform hearing functional assessment (ABR, DPOAE, …)
- Perform inner ear histology (cochlea dissection, staining, counting)
- Participate in the development of new models and techniques
- Maintaining lab files, analyse data, prepare figures, reports and presentations
- Manage and oversee sponsor-driven studies, ensuring compliance with protocols and timelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to support project goals
- Collaborate with and maintain client relationships
- Participate to scientific conferences to promote Cilcare’s expertise
- Based on experience: Local operations oversight, Project Management, Team Management, Preclinical models development
Qualifications
We are looking for a driven and rigorous candidate able to support Cilcare’s team. You will need to have a good understanding of drug development and pharmacology, good grasp of hands-on techniques, as well as demonstrate a methodical and organized approach to your work. Your key skills include:
- Master’s degree or PhD in related scientific discipline
- 3-5 yrs of relevant lab experience
- Strong technical background in auditory and inner ear histology, preferably in a pharmaceutical or contract laboratory environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
- Fluent in English (native or bilingual required), with a good level of French.
