The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on boats, ensuring safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency. This role provides direct, hands-on supervision to Electrician Associates while actively performing electrical work as needed. The Electrical Supervisor ensures compliance with marine electrical standards, production schedules, and company safety requirements while supporting continuous improvement and team development.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervise, assign, and coordinate daily work activities for Electrician Associates and electrical staff.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on boats, including lighting, power distribution, navigation systems, electrical panels, batteries, chargers, alternators, and related components.
- Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting assistance for complex electrical issues, including power failures, faulty wiring, and equipment malfunctions.
- Review and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure proper execution of work.
- Inspect and verify electrical installations for proper connections, grounding, insulation, functionality, and compliance with marine standards.
- Ensure all electrical systems are tested for safety, performance, and regulatory compliance before release to the next production phase.
- Enforce safety procedures, proper use of PPE, and compliance with company policies and marine electrical regulations.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to integrate electrical systems into new builds and repairs.
- Monitor work quality, productivity, and timelines to minimize rework, delays, and additional labor hours.
- Train, coach, and mentor Electrician Associates; assist with onboarding and skill development.
- Provide performance feedback and support disciplinary actions in coordination with management as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety within the Electrical department.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a marine electrician or senior electrician within a boat manufacturing or marine repair environment.
- Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, wiring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with electrical systems used in boats, including marine electronics such as navigation systems, GPS, radar, and communication devices.
- Knowledge of marine electrical safety standards, codes, and regulations.
- Certification in marine electrical systems, electrical technology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with batteries, chargers, alternators, inverters, solar power systems, and renewable energy solutions for boats.
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift and carry electrical equipment and materials up to 25 pounds, including batteries, wiring, and tools.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Comfort working in confined spaces, such as inside engine rooms or under decks, and at heights when necessary.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for working with electrical components, wiring, and tools.
- Good visual sense to read electrical diagrams, inspect wiring, and verify proper connections.
