POSITION OVERVIEW
CIFC is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join its Portfolio Management and Trading team in the New York office. The Portfolio Analyst will report to the CLO Portfolio Manager and is responsible for portfolio-wide reporting, managing short and long-term projects, and maintaining efficient workflows between Portfolio Management, Capital Markets and all other areas of the firm. We are looking for an individual who is curious, eager to learn, excited to contribute and take initiative, and help add value to the team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Portfolio Managers and Traders with daily management of CLO’s and leverage loan funds
- Investigate buy/sell ideas from the Research Team and follow through with communication that results in a trade or provide feedback
- Develop portfolio trading plans for existing funds that meet Portfolio Management objectives
- Model new portfolios and assist with capital markets/structuring efforts as the firm manages its new issue and reset/refi CLO pipeline
- Maintain consistent high-quality standards for data accuracy and quality
- Assist Marketing team with investor due diligence requests
- Proactively take on ad hoc projects and provide support for new business initiatives, as needed
APPLICABLE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES
- 0-2 years of related work experience (working knowledge of credit markets preferred)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Bloomberg, or similar business intelligence platforms preferred
- Bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Computer Science preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical skills, and exemplary attention to detail
- Highly motivated, proactive team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to multi‐task, be proactive, work independently, and work effectively under pressure (often under deadlines and changing priorities)
- Comfortable interacting and building relationships with all teams (including senior management) across the firm and affiliated organizations
- Outstanding reputation of professional integrity and maturity
- Experience utilizing AI tools (claude, etc) to improve processes for financial firms
