Technical Program Manager - Data Center / HPC Infrastructure and Operations

Location

  • United States (West Coast preferred): Regular collaboration with customer engineering teams in the U.S. West Coast is expected.
  • Travel: Travel of approximately one week a month to data center locations is expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with Engineering leaders to drive execution of critical initiatives across multiple engineering teams and TPM organizations.
  • Management: Serve as a program-level coordination point across partner engineering and DC operations teams. Facilitate collaboration across hardware, software, infrastructure, and operations teams to align on priorities, deliverables, and schedules. Run recurring syncs, maintain dependency and risk registers, and drive cross-team decisions to closure. Translate technical status into leadership-consumable reporting on an agreed cadence.
  • Testbed Readiness: Track testbed readiness status and dependencies; coordinate with the testbed team on NPI schedules and entry/exit criteria. Drive functional alignment with testbed various engineering teams to ensure HW/SW readiness, test execution, and bug resolution prior to rollout.
  • NPI Coordination: Align NPI build, validation, and qualification milestones against fleet deployment dates. Identify NPI driven schedule risk.
  • Cluster Turnup Management: Lead end-to-end SW deployment workflows for new site activations, with specialized execution around customized cluster turnup.
  • Observability and Dashboard: Design, build, and maintain observability dashboards to track cluster health, turnup milestone progress, and operational metrics. Help design and maintain observability dashboards covering deployment velocity, gate status, defect aging, and capacity landed vs. plan
  • Data Center Bringup: Oversee physical readiness, rack/stack validation, cabling, power/cooling infrastructure validation, and site handoffs.
  • Physical Readiness Tracking: Manage physical site dependencies, site acceptance testing, and construction-to-operations handover workflows.
  • Operator & Construction Interface: Act as the primary technical liaison between data center operators, site construction teams, and infrastructure engineering teams.

  • Coordinate and track action items, deliverables, and milestones from leadership meetings to ensure accountability and timely execution.
  • Support teams in collecting, validating, and consolidating program metrics, status updates, and progress reports for senior leadership reviews.
  • Create and maintain program timelines, execution trackers, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to communicate progress, risks, and dependencies.
  • Drive execution in complex and ambiguous environments by bringing structure, prioritization, and operational rigor to cross-functional programs.
  • Monitor program health, identify execution risks, and proactively drive mitigation plans to ensure successful delivery.
  • Work closely with engineering leadership to operationalize strategic initiatives and improve execution processes across organizations.
  • Translate complex technical updates into concise executive summaries and actionable insights for leadership stakeholders.
  • Support program governance, planning, and operational reviews across large-scale infrastructure and engineering initiatives.
  • Improve cross-team communication, process efficiency, and organizational alignment through effective stakeholder management.
  • Track dependencies and ensure coordination across multiple concurrent technical work streams.
  • 10 years of experience in Technical Program Management, Engineering Program Management, or related leadership roles.
  • 8 years of experience with Data Center Hardware (DC HW), compute, networking, storage infrastructure, and large-scale systems operations.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, Agile/SCRUM methodologies, and release management practices.
  • Experience supporting large-scale software and hardware engineering programs.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience creating executive-level status reports, program dashboards, and operational tracking systems.
  • Proven ability to drive execution and alignment in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience supporting large-scale AI infrastructure deployments in a technical capacity, including but not limited to: networking, deployment sequencing, operational validation, operational readiness assessments, GPU cluster deployment, GPU-based instance custom silicon platform management, etc.
    • Prior experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or large-scale cloud technology organizations.
    • Experience partnering directly with engineering executives and senior leadership teams.
    • Familiarity with infrastructure operations, data center environments, and hyperscale systems.
    • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex technical information into clear business and operational insights.
    • Experience driving strategic operational programs across distributed engineering organizations.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field required.
  • Advanced degree or relevant program management certifications are a plus.
