The Vice President of Human Resources provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all human resources functions across the organization's skilled nursing facilities and corporate operations. This position partners with executive leadership to develop and execute workforce strategies that support recruitment, retention, employee relations, compensation, benefits, labor relations, organizational development, compliance, and succession planning. The Vice President of Human Resources ensures consistent application of employment practices, promotes an engaged and accountable workplace culture, and protects the organization through legally compliant and effective human resources programs. The position serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and guides organizational strategy, workforce planning, and operational initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the organization's human resources strategy in alignment with business objectives and operational goals.
- Provide executive-level leadership and oversight of employee relations, performance management, corrective action processes, workplace investigations, grievance resolution, and employment practices.
- Lead workforce planning initiatives, recruitment strategies, retention programs, succession planning, and talent development efforts across all facilities and corporate operations.
- Oversee compensation and benefits programs, including plan design, vendor relationships, employee communications, compliance reporting, and enrollment administration.
- Direct labor relations strategy, collective bargaining support, contract administration, and labor-management partnerships, when applicable.
- Oversee workplace safety and overall workers compensation strategy of the organization
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, regulatory requirements, wage and hour laws, leave regulations, equal employment opportunity laws, and healthcare-specific employment requirements.
- Establish and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices that support operational consistency and organizational effectiveness.
- Analyze workforce trends, turnover metrics, vacancy rates, engagement indicators, compensation data, and labor utilization metrics and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
- Oversee HRIS systems, human capital reporting, and workforce analytics to support informed business decisions.
- Partner with facility Administrators, regional leaders, department heads, legal counsel, and executive leadership to address workforce challenges and organizational priorities.
- Lead leadership development programs, management training initiatives, and employee education programs that strengthen organizational culture and accountability.
- Direct HR compliance audits, personnel record management practices, and responses to agency inquiries, investigations, audits, and employment-related claims.
- Serve as a member of the executive leadership team and provide strategic guidance regarding organizational structure, acquisitions, workforce integration, and operational initiatives.
- Partnership with operations leadership on staffing, agency reduction, and workforce optimization initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of senior-level HR leadership experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, long-term care, senior living, or another multi-site organization.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing employee relations, labor relations, workforce planning, compensation, benefits, compliance, talent acquisition, and organizational development initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of federal and Michigan employment laws and regulations.
