Schedule: Part-time, weekdays (hours flexible)
Work Environment: Quiet, focused studio with a dedicated sewing room
About the Role
We are a small, local west Knoxville home décor business specializing in handmade lampshades and soft furnishings. We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented person to support production, order fulfillment, and inventory in our Knoxville studio. This is a hands-on position working approximately two days per week.
The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, comfortable following detailed instructions, and willing to help wherever needed in a small production studio.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick and pack orders accurately
- Prepare shipping materials and assist with order fulfillment
- Measure and cut fabric according to patterns, measurements, and production instructions
- Press, steam, or iron finished products before packing
- Inspect products for quality, cleanliness, and order accuracy
- Help track fabric, trims, packaging supplies, and finished-product inventory
- Count and organize incoming materials and completed products
- Notify the studio manager when materials or supplies are running low
- Label and store fabrics, trims, hardware, and packaging materials
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Assist the studio manager and sewing team with other production tasks as needed
Required Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow measurements accurately
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable handling repetitive tasks
- Able to follow established processes and accept direction and feedback
- Able to work independently while also cooperating with a small team
- Respectful, positive, and willing to help with different studio tasks
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and handling rolls of fabric
- Previous experience in sewing, textiles, production, inventory, retail fulfillment, or shipping is helpful but not required

- $18 per hour
