Position Scope: As a Cook, you will support the delivery and execution of quality food service to residents and guests.

Reports to: Director of Culinary

FLSA Status: Full-time

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Setting up, cleaning, and organizing workstations.
• Preparing ingredients for the shift; washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc.
• Preparing oven, utensils, and grill for shift.
• Taking orders from wait staff or computerized system.
• Cooking order according to food health and safety standards.
• Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes.
• Handling multiple food orders at one time.
• Monitoring multiple food orders as new orders arrive.
• Dressing order for presentation.
• Ensuring each guest order has the correct food and sides
• Delivering food order to wait staff in a timely manner
• Storing all food properly
• Sanitizing and cleaning workstations and utensils
• Reordering stock and food supplies
• Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
• Able to quickly multiple orders
• High school degree or equivalent

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Walk/Stand - must be able to continuously walk and stand.
• Environment Condition - must be able to perform work both inside and outside
• Sit - sit infrequently
• Lift - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 - 50 pounds
• Carry - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 - 50 pounds
• Push - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 - 50 pounds
• Climb - must be able to climb stairs on a frequent basis, with the opportunity to utilize the elevator as an alternate resource if available
• Bend - must be able to bend at the waist, knees, hips and spine on a frequent basis; may require frequently manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
• Squat - must be able to squat on a frequent basis to reach below the knee, may require lifting of 50 pounds or less.
• Twist or rotate - must be able to twist or rotate occasionally at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck, manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
• Reach- must be able to reach on a frequent basis. May occasionally reach overhead, requiring manipulation of weight of 10 pounds or less, and below waist manipulating weight of 25 pounds or more.
• Sensory Vision - must be able to read clearly with or without corrective lenses
• Hear - Must be able to hear telephone and audible alarms.
• Must be able to taste and smell.
• Speech/Language - must have strong command of English sufficient to read and write and interpret administration information.
