Summary:
CICONIX is seeking an Assistant Registrar to support the National Museum of Health and Medicine (NMHM) in Silver Spring, MD.

About the Role:
- Provides administrative and technical support to the Registrar in the development and administration of policies and procedures for the acquisition, de-accession, loan, receipt, shipment, and care and handling of museum collections and individual artifacts.
- Assists in the development of forms and recordkeeping systems to maintain documentation and inventory of collection materials and artifacts.
- Maintains and reconciles central museum registration numbering system for collection objects.
- Assists in maintaining current inventories of collection objects at all collection storage facilities and aids in developing long range plans for museum storage needs.
- Coordinates these activities with curators, collection managers, conservators, and senior museum staff within the Museum.
- Process new acquisitions.
- Process Loans.
- Support exhibit and public programs and collections management divisions as required.
- Remains current in the museum registrar field through review of museum periodicals, attending professional conferences, and other continuing education programs, as appropriate.
- Receives OSHA required annual physical for lab technician.

Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School Diploma required.
- Experience:
- Three (3) - Five (5) years of experience.
- Security & Background Check:
- U.S. Citizenship and a successful background investigation are required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to comply with the government vaccination requirements.
