Our products are designed to support wellness, sustainability, and better snacking choices-helping consumers “Snack With Purpose.” Summary: The Safety Lead is a supervisory level position responsible for providing oversight and alignment of the safety coordinators across three sites and multiple shifts all within a 1-mile radius ensuring health and safety programs are executed in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations. Reporting to the EHS manager, this position will also work on specific projects to help the manager develop the company EHS programs into a world class operation. In the absence of a safety coordinator, this role will be expected to step in and handle some day-to-day tasks as required to ensure uninterrupted performance of the department. The Safety Lead partners closely with site and line level leadership, HR, and cross-functional teams to promote a proactive safety culture, reduce risk, and enhance overall workplace safety performance. Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety coordinators are completing daily, weekly, and monthly standard work assignments while also adapting to a dynamic changing environment as needed.
- Complete various inspections, audits, and training sessions as required to support the department.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs and initiatives across all operations in support of the EHS manager.
- Support completion of initial incident reports and assist with root cause analysis during the investigation and corrective action implementation.
- Utilize surveillance systems to retain video of incidents or near misses as required.
- Assist with EHS related documentation as required.
- Participate in site safety committees as well as the overall company safety steering committee.
- Implement and deliver comprehensive health, safety, and regulatory training programs that drive compliance and performance improvement.
- Champion a culture of safety by promoting awareness, accountability, and proactive hazard identification.
- Respond to incidents providing emergency first aid as required. Skills / Requirements:
- Higher level understanding of industry best practices and OSHA regulations including 29CFR Part 1904 and 1910.
- Previous experience in EHS either part time or full time.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to drive safety initiatives across all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Collaborative team player with the ability to build cross-functional partnerships.
- Experience in warehouse, production, and/or manufacturing environments required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Ability to speak in front of groups up to 50 people for training delivery.
- Reliable transportation with ability to go to other nearby sites under 1 mile.
- Willing to maintain CPR/AED/First aid certification during the course of employment and provide care as a first responder.
- Ability to be on feet 50% or more of shift as business needs dictate including climbing stairs, ladders up to 25ft, work on elevated work surfaces at height, and work in noisy areas above 80dB.
