Our products are designed to support wellness, sustainability, and better snacking choices-helping consumers “Snack With Purpose.” Summary: The safety coordinator is an entry level position that will be responsible for executing the day-to-day responsibilities of the EHS department in their assigned facility. Reporting to the EHS lead, and subsequently the EHS manager, this position is critical to providing leadership and guidance to the main work force of Cibo Vita focused on environmental, health and safety ultimately ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Responsible for implementing, delivering and managing safety programs and initiatives including hazard assessments, health, training, and incident investigation. Responsibilities:

Responsible for implementing, delivering and managing safety programs and initiatives including hazard assessments, health, training, and incident investigation. Responsibilities:
- Daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of equipment including packaging machinery guards, fire extinguishers, hoists, first aid stations, etc.
- Provide visible presence and support in various manufacturing, warehousing, and office environments to drive safety performance.
- Implement and manage assigned safety programs.
- Respond to incidents providing emergency first aid as required.
- Complete initial incident reports and assist with root cause analysis during the investigation.
- Assist during internal audits of assigned site.
- Implement and communicate safety procedures and practices including correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors in real time.
- Deliver EHS related trainings as directed by the EHS lead and manager including new hire orientation and topic specific trainings.
- Participate in the site safety committee as a lead member.
- Participate in site daily shift meetings as the EHS representative.
- Issue PPE to employees as required and maintain an organized PPE inventory area.
- Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to mitigate potential hazards, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices Required Skills:
- Basic understanding of industry best practices and OSHA regulations with the ability and desire to learn more.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to speak in front of groups up to 50 people for training delivery.
- Reliable transportation with ability to go to other nearby sites under 1 mile.
- Detail oriented and passionate about professional documentation.
- Team player with the ability to work on individual tasks as well as group collaborative efforts when required.
- Experience in warehouse, production, or manufacturing facilities.
- Bi-lingual in English / Spanish at a level that allows for both written and verbal communication in either language.
- Willing to maintain CPR/AED/First aid certification during the course of employment and provide care as a first responder.
- Ability to be on feet 50% or more of shift as business needs dictate including climbing stairs, ladders up to 25ft, work on elevated work surfaces at height, and work in noisy areas above 80dB.
- Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Desirable Skills:
- Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, or aerial lifts.
- Lock out tag out use and evaluation.
- Experience working in an SQF certified environment.
- CPR / First Aid Certification.
- Formal safety education or certifications of any kind.
