What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at Ciao Cafe?
Job Summary
Looking to add a experience line cook to our team. Were a fast paced breakfast/lunch cafe serving breakfast sandwiches, bowls and different specialty items in the morning and grinders, salads, soups & pizza & catering.
While experience is important, nothing trumps a positive attitude and a true team player. Small staff as each day there is only one shift so working together well is important.
Shift hours range from 7 am - 4pm - operating hours are 8 am - 3pm 7 days a week.
Pay based on experience
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, portioning, and plating with attention to detail.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food efficiently while maintaining high standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service times and ensure smooth operations during busy hours.
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure safe serving practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable.
- Proven restaurant or kitchen experience demonstrating strong food industry knowledge.
- Skilled in culinary techniques including knife skills, food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience with menu planning, catering, and serving in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
