What are the responsibilities and job description for the Splicer position at CI Services, a UniTek Global Services Company?
The Splicer position is a mid-level to senior level construction worker that can perform both aerial and underground cable and fiber installation work, splice fiber, and has a good working knowledge of aerial and underground rules and regulations. , the Fiber Technician will be expected to undertake a lead and/or a foreman role in the field for both aerial and underground fiber related work.
In Addition, technician will be working with DWDM light meters, OSAM's, tunable light sources, OTDR, CWDM, DWDM, single channel and mux wave management, piggy backed parent/child enclosure setups, FTTu, FTTh, RFoG, Matrix CREATION, Fiber as-built's and terminology. Able to troubleshoot and repair problems utilizing optical test equipment such as OTDRs, OSAMs, Fiber Identifiers, scopes and proper fiber standards and practices.
Should be Familiar with OLT/PON cards and equipment, Patch panel and relay rack management and fiber connector preparation and care.
