Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) is responsible for the day-to-day store operations, including scheduling, training, and supervising employees. The ASM is also responsible for all controllable expenses, to include staffing labor, cash management, inventory control, and store supplies. The ASM will work closely with Owner on seasonal inventory management to include creative vision for the store displays, timely scheduling of the seasonal shifts, movement of inventory, and store layout for displays. The ASM will work closely with the Senior Store Leads on merchandising and display of various product lines.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and motivate team to achieve and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Ensure day-to-day operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Maintain inventory control to include ordering, receiving, and monitoring for damages to always ensure accuracy in inventory levels.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner striving to resolve issues to the customer’s satisfaction.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, and personal development.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Maintain the Store Point of Sale (POS) Manual and ensure all store staff is trained to latest best practices.
- Ensure that the store is maintained as a clean, organized and visually appealing environment that reflects Churchill’s brand.
Requirements
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience in retail store management
- Strong Leadership skills and the ability to motivate the team.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with staff, managers, and customers.
- Detailed oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with POS systems and inventory management.
- Must be flexible and open to change.
- Must have experience in Merchandising and Store display.
- Must be able to work on weekends and holidays.
- Must have Positive and “Get it done” attitude.
- Be able to lift weight/move items up to 50lbs.
- Able to be on your feet for an 8-hour shift.
Job Type: Full-time (9-5pm) including 1 weekend day and most holidays.
Experience:
- Store management experience: consecutive 5 years
- Customer Service/Retail/Merchandising: consecutive 5 years
- Gardening/Nursery Sales (Preferred)
