Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Associate to join our finance team. This position will assist in managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in transactions, and supporting daily accounting operations. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, processing invoices, and assisting with audits. The role will have the unique opportunity to act as the controller of multiple small legal entities, work with external partners as well as collaborate with other departments internally. Strong organizational skills, the ability to be a team player and proficiency with accounting software are essential for success in this role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform accounting and finance functions for Company, joint venture, and/or fund-level financials.
- Prepare & post journal entries, maintain the general ledger and various sub-ledgers.
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness, monthly.
- Assist with the monthly/quarterly/annual close process
- Prepare monthly financial reporting package to be distributed to internal & external partners
- Interact with senior management and external partners to present and discuss financial results
- Assist with annual audits across multiple entities within the organizational structure
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and regulatory reports
- Work closely with Finance, Capital Markets, and Treasury teams on day-to-day basis
- Manage and monitor the timing and quality of both internal and external deliverables
- Collaborate with team members to identify and document processes & areas for process improvements
Qualifications
- 2 years of accounting experience (Big 4 public accounting preferred)
- Experience in fund accounting and/or preparation of financial statements
- Project management skills with attention to detail and proven ability to multi-task
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA designation preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word essential, Workday experience is a plus
