Facility Custodian Job Description
The Facility Custodian at a COTR campus ensures that it is a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for people to engage in COTR ministries. The Facility Custodian is a crucial part of making ministry happen, and may also develop and disciple a serve team to help reset the facility after groups, special events, or during PTO. This is a part-time hourly position (24-31 Hours) that reports directly to the Campus Pastor.

The Facility Custodian at a COTR campus ensures that it is a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for people to engage in COTR ministries. The Facility Custodian is a crucial part of making ministry happen, and may also develop and disciple a serve team to help reset the facility after groups, special events, or during PTO. This is a part-time hourly position (24-31 Hours) that reports directly to the Campus Pastor.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensuring Clean Facilities
- Main building & outbuildings should be properly reset after all weekly ministries & groups, including removal of trash, vacuuming, rinsing coffee maker, etc.
- Facilities should be cleaned thoroughly before Sunday services and after for weekly ministry groups, including bathrooms and mopping the floors.
- Organize bi-yearly deep clean to intentionally clean areas that are not consistently being done.
- Use facility calendar and work with Campus Admin to plan for special events such as ECHO Missions Conference when more frequent cleaning may be necessary.
- Report facility damage to Facilities Coordinator and/or Campus Pastor.
2. Inventory Management
- Budget annually for all necessary supplies and equipment.
- Order supplies and organize utility closets.
3. Serve Team Development
- Recruit and manage volunteers for cleaning serve team.
- Ensure all serve team members have completed Ascent and Reducing the Risk.
- Properly train, schedule, and communicate with serve team members.
- Disciple serve team members and provide a relational bridge between them and campus staff.

- Develop leaders and provide leadership in areas of responsibility
- Be discreet and discerning regarding sensitive information to which you may be privy
- Protect the reputation and integrity of others through strict confidentiality and accountability
- Work collaboratively across departments and campuses
- Manage additional responsibilities as assigned and/or agreed upon
- Uphold a strong personal commitment to the mission and values of Church on the Rock
Qualifications
- A born-again believer, baptized, filled with the Holy Spirit, and living under the lordship of Jesus Christ
- Proficiency with or willing to learn tools and platforms such as Church Community Builder (U-Link)
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Current screening form and background check on file
