Sunday Team Leader

Mandate

To lead the Sunday Team at Church of the Living Christ (CLC) so that worship and other ministries held on Sundays at CLC pursue CLC’s mission and are living out CLC’s values.

Major Tasks

1. Act as primary faith formation organizer and equipper for Sunday after church ministry.

2. Equip and support the Sunday team so that Sundays at CLC continue to grow in their warmth and effectiveness and Sunday volunteer opportunities are well coordinated and filled.

3. Lead and work with a team of volunteers to accomplish the “Team Specific Tasks” listed below.

Team Specific Tasks

1. Hospitality

a. Schedule greeters and ensure that they are equipped and in place each week.

b. Design and facilitate the best way for us to connect with and retain info for follow up with guests.

c. Design, develop and oversee the post-service culture/interactions so that it is inviting and appropriately models congregationally-held values.

d. Other items as needed to make sure CLC puts its best foot forward as a place of hospitality to all.

2. Faith Formation

a. Sunday is our primary time of faith formation for children, youth and adults. Faith formation includes identifying curriculum, recruiting and equipping teachers, and allocating space for faith formation times as part of Sunday ministry.

3. Visual Presentation

a. Work with the Resource Team and volunteers to plan for and provide continuing improvement of technology that supports worship.

b. Work with the Resource Team and volunteers to plan for and implement front of worship space and visuals that enhance Sunday worship.

1. Committed Christian who is able to embrace the mission, values and beliefs of Church of the Living Christ (Fremont, MI) – CLC.

2. Ability to recruit, encourage and help volunteers accomplish their volunteer tasks.

3. Experience with developing Christian faith formation in a small group setting.

4. Experience working on a team and equipping others.

5. Worship leadership and/or playing an instrument (guitar, piano, etc.) are an added value.

Time Expectation

Part-Time position approximately 12-14 hrs/week. Competitive pay based on experience.

Required 4 hours in the church office on Tuesday or Wednesday; Required 4 hours on Sunday morning (approximately 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.); Remainder of hours can be worked remotely by permission.

6. Faith Forming.

We form followers of Christ by building spaces (Sunday messages; youth and adult discipleship; intergenerational activities) that are relatable to life; challenge/inspire us to daily living for God; and help people grow (sometimes because we ask hard questions) in their spiritual walk with Christ.
