What you’ll be doing:
Provide technology standards and architectural design support for Church Mutual’s telecommunications systems (voice, video, and audio/visual) in minimizing costs and maximizing service levels to assure telecommunications systems availability. Work with Church Mutual vendors to design communications infrastructure consisting of telephone, voice/data, and video solutions. Anticipate future needs and growth of telecommunications systems, and make recommendations on necessary hardware and software. Monitor telecommunication environment and address service incidents by responding quickly to restore critical services. Develop, communicate and maintain telecommunications disaster recovery plans.
On any given day, you’ll:
I Provide technical standards and architectural design support for requirements related to telecommunications systems (voice, video, audio/visual) to minimize cost and maximize service levels to assure telecommunications systems availability.
II Plan, implement, and support new or existing complex voice, video collaboration systems typical of large Enterprise networks.
III Convert business requirements into contact center routing configuration utilizing industry best practices that leverage Enterprise class platforms and service provider CCaaS opportunities.
IV Engineer and support solutions utilizing voice over IP technologies, including gateway technologies, PoE standards, and network prioritization Quality of Service (QOS) parameters.
V Serve as a focal point for integration of collaboration tools and technology within and across technology capability domains.
VI Ensure deliverables meet expectations regarding cost, schedule, and scope and are aligned with architectural standards, and deploy the appropriate reuse of common objects and components.
VII Lead in the technical development of project requirements and estimates.
VIII Engineer to support the technology interfaces and protocols across the enterprise including: SIP, TCP/IP, UDP, CTIOS and standard TDM based communications (ISDN, FXO/FXS, etc.).
IX Provide daily management of the telecommunications solution platforms including system health, log review, troubleshooting with support vendors, and business liaisons.
X Work with vendor to ensure solutions meet technical standards, design, and performance requirements to design communications infrastructure consisting of telephone, video, voice/data, and mobile devices.
XI Provide quality assurance on vendor deliverables to avoid impacts on existing applications and/or business processes.
XII Hold vendors accountable for deliverables in Statement of Work.
XIII Respond to business and technology management requests for Telecom services in a prompt and timely manner.
XIV Monitor telecommunications network capacity to anticipate future needs and growth of telecommunications systems and make recommendations on necessary hardware and software.
XV Provide direction on telecommunications issues to Church Mutual departments and coordinate all systems changes.
XVI Provide on-call support for telecommunication and collaboration technologies.
XVII Establish and manage release schedules and processes.
XVIII Develop and maintain telecommunications disaster recovery plans.
XIX Make recommendations and monitor telecommunications budget.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Design, build, and support to ensure Church Mutual’s telecommunications systems (voice, video, and data).
2. Participate and provide input in the continual refinement of processes, policies, and procedures.
3. Create, maintain, and update documentation of detailed design documents, diagrams, engineering specifications, build changes, models, troubleshooting support guides, systems metrics, and standard operating procedures as required to ensure operational excellence.
4. Continuously develop specialized knowledge and technical subject matter expertise by remaining apprised of industry trends, the direction of emerging technologies, and their potential value to the business.
5. Develop and maintain telecommunications disaster recovery plans.
Here’s what we expect
1. Prior Experience:
● 5-7 years of proven engineering expertise within the subject matter domain.● Implementation\architectural experience in voice communications, contact center technologies, and video conferencing.
2. Education:
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.● Cisco CCNA or CCNP – Voice/Collaboration certification a plus.
3. Necessary Knowledge and Abilities:
● Ability to support working outside of normal business hours to provide after hour or "on-call" support when necessary to solve high profile incidents/problems.● Highly innovative problem solver with strong analytical and customer service abilities required.● Strong communications skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to communicate and articulate technical information across various organizational levels.● High reasoning aptitude and ability to quickly understand complex operating environments. ● Ability to handle several projects simultaneously.● Ability to efficiently manage time, organize work with minimal supervision, and meet necessary timelines.
