Industrial Maintenance Technician – Packaging Lines | $37.32/hr | Nights (2-2-3, 6pm-6am)
Starting Pay: $37.32/hr
Schedule: 2-2-3 rotation, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Summary
Under supervision, this role performs mechanical repairs, basic electrical troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on Packaging Lines equipment and the general facility as needed.
What You'll Do
Promote a strong safety culture across all assigned duties
Perform entry to mid-level repairs on packaging lines during production, including troubleshooting, machine repairs, adjustments, and fine tuning
Set up and operate simple machining operations (drill press, grinder, lathe, other metal working tools) to make and repair parts
Perform basic welding tasks, including TIG welding
Complete Preventative Maintenance and Work Order support as scheduled, coordinating with plant and labor needs
Review POKA at least every other day and update pending action status
Document all repair records
Monitor and minimize downtime; identify and advocate for improvement opportunities
Identify needed parts, supplies, and repair items
Participate in process improvement teams, 5S, and Kaizen events
Assure compliance with 5S, housekeeping, and CI standards
Train across all maintenance activities, pairing with other Maintenance Technicians to build knowledge in processing and support areas beyond packaging lines
Use CMMS to track and update work
Provide support/backup to other department members as needed
Complete technical self-study programs for career development
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong oral/written communication, organizational, and time management skills
Mechanical aptitude
Knowledge of industrial controls and pneumatics
Three phase electrical knowledge required; PLC knowledge desired
480 volt electrical knowledge required
Machine tool experience
Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings
TIG welding ability
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work under pressure for extended periods and manage ambiguity
Must be willing to shave facial hair at least once per year for respirator fit testing (male applicants)
Education & Experience
High school diploma and 1 years of maintenance experience in a related manufacturing environment
Three phase electrical knowledge required; industrial controls/pneumatics understanding preferred
Allen-Bradley PLC and hydraulic experience desired
