Role Description
This position is for a full-time Training Specialist/ALS Provider at the Chugiak Fire Department, located on-site in Chugiak,Alaska. The role involves developing and delivering training programs for emergency response personnel, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The individual will train, assess, and evaluate personnel in Advanced Life Support (ALS) and related practices while maintaining up-to-date knowledge on emergency response procedures. Additional duties include collaborating with department leadership and providing excellent service during community interaction.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Communication and Customer Service
- Experience in Training, Training & Development, and Instructional Design
- Knowledge of Advanced Life Support (ALS) procedures and emergency response protocols
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Current certification as an AEMT,EMT-III or Paramedic
- Current certification as an Firefighter I
- Previous experience in fire or EMS training is highly desirable
- Minimum of three years firefighting experience
- Minimum of three years EMS experience
- Minimum of three years teaching fire and/or EMS
- Experience with volunteer organizations
