- Provide direct support to the WSGs team lead including the government sponsor and his/her managers on a daily basis.
- Develop/integrate/troubleshoot various IC related AV/communication systems in support of NIWC and the US Navy.
- The tasks required vary with each system integration requirements.
- Candidate must be skilled in building all types of connectors, be familiar with different types of cables, AV systems, antennas, and communications systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert input on internal communications equipment documents.
- Provide assistance during onsite visits to US Navy ships.
Job Requirements:
- Must be a US citizen
- Must have a SECRET security clearance as a minimum at the time of employment
- Twelve (12) years of hands-on experience with task specific project, to include three (3) of the following four (4) areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, and Training. Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and public service leadership in relevant technical field
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Be willing to travel 50 – 75%
- IC related systems including Audio Video (AV), PICTs, UVS, PAPA, TFCC Video, VIDs.
- The work may be performed at Chesapeake, VA. Travel of up to seventy-five percent of the time.
- Position may be exposed to and is expected to protect internal/external confidential/unclassified information.
- Work is generally performed indoors (sedentary).
- Outdoor work, if any, is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather.

Must be able to climb ladders and navigate passage ways onboard ships.
- Person will be required to use safety harnesses when climbing towers and shipboard antenna mast to replace and repair communications equipment.
- Candidate must be able to carry tools and equipment to/from ships using gangplanks.
- While working, candidate must be able to kneel and reach above their head to install cables, fix connectors, etc.
