Job Overview
Provide administrative support to the Hazardous Waste Department. Perform accurate and complete documentation for hazardous waste department (deliverables, manifests, and other related documents).
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
- Knowledgeable of and comply with DOD and EPA regulations.
- Provide and maintain administrative support for hazardous waste; completing and submitting various reports, manifests, and deliverables, etc., as required.
- Travel to and inspect above ground tanks and report discrepancies.
- Travel within the limits of NAS Fallon and associated ranges in order to accomplish mission and capable of driving trucks up to 1 ½ tons for the purpose of transporting materials and equipment.
- Must be able to perform duties with minimum supervision.
- Perform preventive maintenance on Company assigned vehicle (i.e. check fluids, tire air pressure, make sure lights, wipers, etc are functioning properly).
- Perform other duties as required.
- Must maintain the ability to fill in for HazMat Techs when out sick, on vacation, or at class, maintaining required certifications.
- Timely, cost-effective performance of duties.
- Working closely and harmoniously with fellow workers.
- Adherence to all Safety rules and regulations.
Mandatory:
- Valid State Driver’s License.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must have 1 year experience in the handling of hazardous waste.
- Possess an OSHA 10 card or have the ability to get one within the first 90 days of employment.
- Must be able to comprehend, read, speak and write fluently in the English language.
- Excellent communication skills utilizing telephone, in person or radio.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Maintain good driving record; be capable of performing basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Tasks involve bending, twisting, and lifting heavy manhole covers.
- Capable of lifting and/or moving up to 70 lbs.
- Capable of working outdoors in inclement and adverse weather conditions.
