Job Overview

Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
- Service, clean and replenish supplies in restrooms, breakrooms and common areas.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Shampoo carpets.
- Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning duties.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
- Provide services while being aware of work environment, i.e., not interfering with personnel working in areas being serviced.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Knowledge of cleaning agents and their safety date sheets.
Mandatory:
- Pre-employment physical examination
- Pre-employment background check. Needed to work in the Child Development Center
- Custodian/Housekeeping experience.
- Must be able to comprehend oral instructions and follow written instructions as provided on daily work sheets.
- Possess an OSHA 10 card or have the ability to get one within the first 90 days of employment.
- Possess a valid State issued Driver’s License.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must be able to comprehend, read, speak and write proficiently in the English language.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to work well in a team environment.
- Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, carrying, and manipulating awkward objects, repetitive motions.
- Work hours are subject to change, with overtime, shift and/or weekend work as needed.
- Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust odors and elevated noise levels.
- Work environment involves exposure to inclement weather examples – rain, snow, ice, wind, extreme temperatures, unpleasant odors and loud sounds.
- Drive company vehicle
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision.
- Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard, and soft-carpeted floors and pavement, cement structures and surfaces.
- Standing, walking, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders as required.
