Responsibilities
- Repair and restore vehicle bodies by removing dents, rust, and collision damage using hand tools, power tools, MIG welding, and sheet metal fabrication techniques.
- Prepare surfaces meticulously through sanding, sanding with power tools and applying primer to ensure smooth finishes.
- Apply paint using numatic spray equipment or traditional methods, ensuring even coverage and flawless finishes.
- Perform auto body repairs including panel replacement, welding, soldering, and assembly of vehicle parts with precision.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to identify necessary repairs or touch-ups, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Maintain detailed records of repair processes, materials used, and customer specifications for accurate auto estimating and documentation.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks such as detailing, and minor mechanical repairs as needed.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in auto body repair and auto painting.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, fabrication, and sheet metal work.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with experience in automotive repair and restoration projects.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment.
- Knowledge of auto painting techniques including numatic paint spraying and finishing details for a professional look.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on vehicles or materials.
