Nursery Team Member – Spring Delivery Driver
Job Description
Chuck Hafner’s Nursery Team Members who serve as a Delivery Driver are primarily responsible for delivering garden center goods in a timely reliable manner. Must be strong and physically fit to move large plant material, firewood, bales of straw, and lift up to 75 pounds.
Essential Functions
- Drive three different size trucks delivering product less than 75 miles away
- Trucks include a freightliner dump truck with a lift gate and a 26' box truck
- Verify delivery goods and order forms for accuracy
- Maintain a clean vehicle and work environment
- Follow all traffic and safety rules
- Detailing, stocking and cleaning Nursery sales yard and sold sections
- Follow established department policies and procedures, and represent the company in a professional manner
- Maintain an open mind and positive attitude within the workplace
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all team members and customers
- Must be self motivated and able to perform essential functions with minimal supervision
Requirements
- Active NYS Drivers License
- DOT Physical
- Clean driving record
- Open availability, must be able to work varied hours/days as business dictates between the hours of 7am-6pm
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work in all weather conditions
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear and speak. The employee needs to be able to freely access all areas of the store including outdoor nursery and sales yard, parking lot, greenhouses, stock and register area by standing, walking, stooping, crawling, climbing, crouching and kneeling and lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds if required.

Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
