Astrus is a Managing General Agent with specialty expertise in the middle market construction business. The MGU is appointed to produce and underwrite the WC, GL, Automobile and Excess lines of business for Commercial Insurance within the guidelines issued in our Producer with Delegated Authority (PDA) Agreement.
This position will report to the CI Astrus Construction Program Operational Specialist Astrus. The candidate for this position will:
- Complete, document and update Rate metrics
- Coordinate account processing for Excess newlines and renewals with processing center and Astrus team
- Provide booking instructions including coverages and final premium
- Manage the operational component of the GL bordereau
- Document CUW information in the electronic file; ensuring electronic file integrity
- Use Excel to assist in analyzing the book
- Communicate with the Astrus Operations and Underwriting staff
- Coordinate distribution/resolution of workers comp criticisms
- Coordinate booking of reinsurance transactions
- Assist with booking work comp subcontractor policies
- Collaborate with the CSSC specialist to resolve premium discrepancies
- Manage the tracking of large deductible policies and claims activity
- Assist with newline submission activities
Competencies:
The selected candidate must have strong communication, multitasking and organizational skills. Must demonstrate: Math aptitude, familiarity with or ability to learn the reference manuals, ISO work comp bureaus and other regulatory agencies as appropriate to states. Willingness to learn the electronic systems, underwriting principles, policy forms and proficient in Word and Excel. WCS, Insurity Auto and Excess/Umbrella Duck Creek systems knowledge a plus.
Education:
Minimum High school degree or equivalent.
**This position may be a pay grade 15 or 16 depending upon skills and experience.
