Position: Restorative Aide
Supervisor: Director of Rehab
Overview of position: Responsible for providing direct resident care per the individualized Restorative Nursing Plans for each resident following established policies, procedures, and practices of the company and under the guidance of the Rehab department and direction of the facility designated RNP Nurse Manager.
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current state licensure and certification/registry, as required.
- Assume responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development to maintain current licensure and/or certification
- Knowledge and skills in basic restorative nursing principles and practices
- Previous long-term care experience with satisfactory work performance
- Ability to meet standards of the Restorative Aide Competency Training Checklist
- Outstanding communication and people skills
- Effective time management skills
- Basic computer skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of CNA experience in long-term care
- Knowledge of Point Click Care (PCC)
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Expectations:
- Perform restorative services for residents based on their individualized plan of care.
- Report any problems, difficulties, or unusual occurrences during restorative activity to the facility designated RNP Nurse Manager and the Director of Rehabilitation
- Notify the Director of Rehabilitation and the facility designated RNP Nurse Manager when a resident is regressing/progressing or refusing to participate in the program.
- Follow department policies and procedures regarding correct documentation of minutes provided, daily restorative log and daily session notes.
- Interact with company staff as well as facility staff and customers in a manner that is professional, courteous, and collaborative.
- Transport residents to and from restorative program as appropriate
- Confer with the Director of Rehab and facility designated RNP Nurse Manager as directed to discuss resident performance and participation for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs

- Maintain a current knowledge of the law and regulations regarding Restorative Nursing Programs and consult with supervisor to ensure any issues with compliance and/or applicable regulations.
- Ensure a safe environment and utilize tools and equipment in a safe manner following all infection control, universal precautions, and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional.
- Report all hazardous conditions including incidents, injuries, and equipment to Supervisor/ appropriate personnel immediately.
- Respond to and act appropriately in emergency or disaster situations.

- Must be able to constantly operate computer and other office productivity machinery (phone, printer, copier, etc.)

- Exposure to blood, chemicals, and other bodily fluids
- Heavy lifting utilizing proper body mechanics.
