Duties
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and goals.
- Monitor and record vital signs as necessary, ensuring the health and well-being of clients.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to coordinate care.
- Participate in training sessions to maintain knowledge of best practices in care for individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any changes in behavior or health status.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred.
- Familiarity with hospice care practices is a plus.
- Knowledge of care plans and nursing home environments is beneficial.
- Certification in CPR is required; additional training in first aid is advantageous.
- Understanding of social work principles as they relate to client care is helpful.
- Ability to administer medications safely and effectively while adhering to established protocols.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective collaboration.
