As a Sterile Processing Specialist you will prepare, inspect, assemble and sterilizes surgical instruments/equipment according to hospital and departmental procedures. Provide a continuous flow of sterile supplies, equipment and instrumentation to all areas of Children's. This position requires: High School diploma or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required. Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required. One year experience as a Sterile Processing Tech preferred. Current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) preferred with certification to be obtained no later than 18 months after hire. Analytical ability to learn and differentiate different types of instruments, supplies and equipment. Interpersonal and communication skills to interact with physicians, nursing staff and patients/families. Ability to stand and maneuver equipment for extended periods of time. Knowledge of complex instrumentation preferred. Basic knowledge and skill of computer use. Hours: Second shift hours 3pm-11:30pm This position also participates in a rotating weekend and Holiday.
