Chrysalis House, Inc is a Foster Family & Adoption Agency in Fresno, CA. We have been building and supporting families since 1985. We are a non-profit that is full-service, licensed, and accredited. We provide adoption services in 26 counties throughout the state of California.
Chrysalis House is looking for a dependable, self-motivated, and trustworthy individual to fill a part-time Social Worker position. Individuals with experience in the field of adoption are encouraged to apply.
In this role, you would be responsible for providing direct services to our adoptive families hoping to build their family via domestic, embryo or foster adoption. This includes the evaluation and assessment of applicants, certifying homes, working with county offices to match them with a child, as well as providing ongoing in-home support to certified families. You will also provide education and support to women facing an unplanned pregnancy; as well as adoption planning if requested.
The ideal candidate must have excellent organizational & engagement skills. Strong and effective writing is an essential component of this position; as well as being attentive to deadlines. The ability to work with families, birth parents, triad members and service providers is crucial. Our current need is part time, 29 hours per week.
Additionally, the Social Worker shall:
· Perform trauma-informed case management activities which insure the stability of children and families. This includes support, referral and placement services.
· Advocate for, and support, foster families providing care to vulnerable children.
· Provide structure and regulatory advisement to foster parents.
· Prepare documentation to comply with state and community care licensing standards.
· Participate in case consultation and in-service trainings.
· Carrying out service plan on an ongoing basis, making appropriate modifications as necessary.
· Participate in prospective adoptive parent orientation and training.
· Facilitate intake interviews, birth mother counseling, advisement and relinquishment.
· Participates in the rotation of managing an on-call phone.
· Maintain positive working relationships with community resource partners and all members of the adoption triad.
· Travel throughout our licensing area to visit their assigned families.
· Support community outreach engagements by participating in booths, health fairs, and other opportunities that promote CHI's services.
· Be flexible, this job may include some evening or weekend hours.
The following are not required but would be exceptional:
· SAFE Home Study certification
· LCSW/LMSW, LMFT, LPC
· Bilingual proficiency
· TBRI practitioner

· Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy or a closely related field
· Experience at the Master’s Degree level in a public or private social agency setting; working with children and families; working with minority populations;
· Possess a valid driver's license
Wage is commensurate with the private non-profit social work sector.
· Pay is adjusted for experience & specialized skills; the hourly rate range of $32-$34.50 DOE
· In lieu of a benefits package, we do provide a benefit stipend and personal cell phone usage reimbursement.
