This is a high-need role with immediate opportunities statewide, ideal for psychiatrists seeking assessment-based work, professional autonomy, and flexibility alongside private practice or other clinical commitments.
Role Overview
- Perform psychiatric and diagnostic evaluations for DJJ-involved youth
- Review medical, psychiatric, and collateral records
- Provide clear diagnostic opinions and treatment recommendations
- Conduct evaluations on-site at DJJ facilities (no ongoing medication management required)
- Competitive per-evaluation pay (1099 contractor)
- Reliable referral flow
- Opportunities for additional evaluation types based on expertise
- Active, unrestricted Florida license as a Psychiatrist (MD or DO)
- Experience with psychiatric evaluations, forensic work, or juvenile populations preferred
- Ability to perform in-person evaluations
- Strong diagnostic and documentation skills
- Trusted behavioral health organization with statewide DJJ presence
- Administrative and clinical support to streamline evaluations
