Chroma Maintenance is a licensed general contractor (CCB # 252395) associated with Chroma Property Management, which is a residential property management company based in Portland, Oregon. We manage single family homes and apartment complexes for property owners and investors throughout the Metro area. Our goal is to provide best-in-class property management, client services without parallel, and a positive experience for renters. We value transparency, collaboration, and intuitive problem solving.
We are a fast-growing company and have an immediate position available for a skilled maintenance technician to expand our Maintenance Department.. This position will report directly to our lead technician.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on residential properties, including minor plumbing and electrical work
- Drywall repair and painting
- Repair water damage to flooring, drywall and trim
- Install kitchen and bathroom fixtures
- Caulk showers and tubs
- Replace light fixtures
- Install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
- Replace door handles and dead bolts.
- Replace door hinges or flooring transition strips.
- Conduct carpentry tasks such as fixing or installing doors, cabinets, and trim
- Install and remove portable A/C units
- Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues promptly and effectively
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Communicate with property managers and tenants regarding maintenance issues
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Skills
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role with a strong handyman skillset.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry and painting skills.
- Basic plumbing and electrical skills.
- Strong working knowledge of maintaining and renovating houses and apartment buildings.
- Strong, proactive written and verbal communication with tenants, Chroma team members, and external parties as needed.
- High attention to detail and ability to track and resolve issues to completion while maintaining shifting priorities.
- Flexibility to handle emergency maintenance situations as they arise.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic aligned with our core values.
- You are comfortable with technology and can use a smart phone app to interact with our maintenance and property management software.
Job Details:
- Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5pm, flexible at 32-40 hours/week
- Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle
- Must be willing to travel throughout the Portland Metro area.
- Contracting license or insurance NOT required
- You qualify for valid employment in the US
- You will submit to and pass a background check
Pay: $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
