Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and vital signs monitoring, to determine health status and formulate appropriate care plans.
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements while adhering to HIPAA and DEA regulations.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks, including laboratory testing, imaging review, and specimen collection.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, or emergency medicine; including trauma and ICU cases.
- Provide patient education on disease management, medication administration, nutrition, wound care, and lifestyle modifications to promote optimal health outcomes.
- Assist with procedures such as suturing, IV insertion and infusion, catheterization, spinal taps, dermal fillers, botulinum toxin treatments, and other advanced interventions.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, specialists (e.g., ophthalmology or cardiology), and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans.
- Document all clinical encounters thoroughly within EMR/EHR systems while maintaining compliance with healthcare documentation standards.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects to enhance patient safety and care efficiency.
- Support triage services via telehealth or in-person consultations for urgent care needs across outpatient or inpatient settings.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) with valid certification from a recognized governing body.
- Demonstrated experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency room settings, ICU or trauma centers; Level I or Level II trauma center experience preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; experience managing electronic health records is essential.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, CPT coding for procedures and ICD coding for diagnoses (ICD-9/10).
- Skilled in performing advanced procedures such as suturing, venipuncture (phlebotomy), sterile processing techniques, tube feeding management, ventilator support or spinal taps.
- Experience working with specialized populations including pediatrics (neonatal ventilator), geriatrics (memory/dementia care), hospice & palliative medicine or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Critical care experience including ICU work or acute pain management; familiarity with ventilator management is advantageous.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on complex health topics while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high standards of patient safety and confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
