Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials, ensuring a clean and organized workspace in accordance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and efficiency
- Take digital dental X-rays, , while maintaining proper radiation safety measures
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding
- Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients with special needs or pediatric cases to ensure their safety throughout treatment
- Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote long-term dental wellness
- Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team including receptionists and hygienists to optimize patient flow and clinic operations

Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and applying aseptic techniques
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Experience working with EMR systems such as Dentrix familiarity, other medical documentation platforms is a plus
- Ability to perform medical imaging procedures accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting in pediatric cases
- Skilled in managing dental clinic operations including patient check-in/out as a dental receptionist when needed
