Trauma Registrar Senior

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Trauma Registrar Senior to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in clinical data management, medical records abstraction, and trauma registry operations. As a Trauma Registrar Senior, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate data collection, coding, and analysis to support quality improvement initiatives, research, and compliance with health information management standards. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient safety and trauma care excellence through meticulous data oversight and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the collection, abstraction, and validation of trauma patient data from electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) and paper medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Apply ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards accurately for diagnosis and procedure classification in accordance with health regulation policies.
• Manage trauma registry databases and clinical data registries, maintaining data integrity and confidentiality at all times.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate proper documentation, coding, and data entry processes aligned with medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
• Conduct regular audits of medical records to verify compliance with health information management protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Generate detailed reports and perform analysis using Microsoft Office tools to support quality improvement projects, research initiatives, and compliance audits.
• Stay current with evolving health regulation policies related to trauma data collection, coding standards, and medical record abstraction practices.

Skills

• Proficiency in ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems for accurate diagnosis classification.
• Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems, databases, and medical record management software.
• Experience with clinical data registries, database management, and data collection methodologies.
• Excellent understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and oncology as they relate to trauma care documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions effectively.
• Familiarity with health regulation policies governing medical records privacy, security, and reporting standards.
• Proven experience in medical office settings or healthcare environments involving medical record abstraction and coding tasks.

Pay: $19.84 - $30.11 per hour

Expected hours: 80.0 per week
