Position Location: 3330 Masonic Dr., Alexandria, LA 71301
Hours: Two weeks in outpatient clinic (Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm)
One week in hospital ICU (7 day shifts, 13 hours per shift)
Summary of Duties:
Responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating patients with a wide variety of clinical problems of human disease. Use competency of technological procedures and devices used in acute care settings to treat a broad range of conditions common among patients. Responsible for managing the physician-patient relationship in complicated ethical and social areas such as end-of-life decisions, advance directives, estimating prognosis, and counseling of patients and their families. Lead a team of experienced professionals including resident physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, vascular access specialists, physical and occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and nurses. Collaborate with other specialists as needed, in continuous care for hospitalized patients.
Education requirements: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
Special Skills or Other Requirements: Licensed or Eligible for Louisiana Medical License. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease or Critical Care Medicine.
