The Senior Programs Manager will lead complex programs from concept through execution, ensuring exceptional client experiences while supporting AMI’s high standards of service, innovation, and operational excellence. ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary client contact for full-service programs, managing all aspects of event strategy, planning, and execution.Manage additional limited-service and full-service programs, and act as a secondary planner in collaboration with other team members as needed.Lead and mentor junior planners and coordinators, fostering growth, collaboration, and professional development.Partner with leadership and account teams to develop strategic event plans aligned with client objectives and business goals.Oversee program budgets, financial reporting, and reconciliation; ensure fiscal responsibility and ROI-driven decision-making.Negotiate contracts with hotels, venues, and vendors to optimize value and minimize risk.Manage vendors, logistics, and on-site operations for domestic and international events, including site inspections and client travel.Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, creative, and operations teams to ensure seamless program delivery.Manage Cvent registration websites, mobile apps, and surveys; generate program reports and analytics.Partner with Group Air Travel team for client and attendee flight logistics and communication.Ensure compliance with safety, accessibility, and sustainability standards for all programs.Develop and maintain contingency and risk management plans.Provide post-event analysis, insights, and recommendations to drive continuous improvement.Stay current with industry trends and technology through training and participation in industry events.Maintain a strong focus on customer service and solution-driven communication.Represent AMI professionally, maintaining a positive and proactive attitude with clients, attendees, and coworkers.Be available and responsive to clients during normal operating hours, and occasionally during off-hours as needed.Requirements10 years of experience in meetings, incentives, and event management, including full-service program leadership.Proven experience managing large-scale budgets, vendor negotiations, and client relationships.Knowledge of hotel and vendor contracts and best practices in risk management and sustainability.CMP Certification preferred.Proficiency in Cvent (registration websites, mobile apps, surveys) and Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail and grammar.Customer service-oriented with a positive, professional demeanor.Comfortable leading client meetings and presenting both in person and on camera.Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple complex programs simultaneously.Self-motivated, adaptable to change, and eager to embrace new technologies.Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and collaborate within a team environment.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Client satisfaction and retentionProgram profitability and budget adherenceOn-time delivery and execution qualityTeam development and mentorship impactPost-event insights and process improvementsWhy AMIAt AMI, we create extraordinary experiences through collaboration, creativity, and precision.
