CDL Driver / Yard Associate — Hazel Green

Christopher Equipment is looking for a CDL Driver / Yard Associate for our Hazel Green location. This dual role combines equipment delivery with hands-on yard support, so you'll stay busy, keep a steady routine, and play a key part in getting our customers what they need, when they need it.

This is more than a driving job or a yard job. You're the person who keeps equipment moving safely and smoothly through every stage of the rental process, from prepping it in the yard to delivering it to the job site.

What You'll Do

On the Road:

• Deliver and pick up rental equipment at job sites and homes
• Load, secure, and unload equipment safely using proper tie-down and rigging techniques
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure safe operation
• Keep trucks clean, organized, and well-maintained
• Communicate clearly with dispatch and the rental team

In the Yard:

• Inspect, clean, and stage rental equipment, fueled, serviced, and ready before it hits the job site
• Receive returns, note any damage, and keep accurate records
• Keep the yard, wash bay, and storage areas clean, organized, and safe
• Assist customers with loading/unloading and basic operational questions
• Work closely with counter staff, mechanics, and the rest of the team to keep equipment flowing efficiently

What You Bring

• A clean driving record (CDL required)
• Steady, reliable work ethic; you show up on time and do what's expected
• Detail-oriented and hands-on; comfortable outdoors, moving equipment, and working with tools
• Calm and focused under pressure, especially when switching between driving and yard duties
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds and performing physical labor daily
• Basic mechanical aptitude; able to check fluids, perform light maintenance, and spot equipment issues
• Customer-focused with a problem-solving attitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Respect for the equipment and responsibility for how it's handled

Working Conditions

Employees are expected to work a basic 40-50 hour week, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. May be required to work some Saturdays 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
